every once in a while i like to check google maps to see how much they're paying attention to my family's neck of the woods. hannawa falls, where they officially live, was not even recognized as a town in the US until a couple years ago. i am pleased to note that very little has changed since then. i dunno why, but that makes me proud :) maybe i just like the idea of keeping the north country hidden from the rest of the world because it is awesome (...in most ways) and should stay the way it is: untouched.
